- Renee was supposed to buy the copy right of the movie and produce the film by herself before. However, she did not have enough money and then the copy right went to Miramax. Afterwards, she insisted to participate in this movie and went to find Anthony
- Cold Mountain was rumored to be the second film to reunite Tom Cruise and Renee. However Tom Cruise was unaware Nicole’s involvement in this film, Tom backed out but Nicole immediately signed up. Renee was then offered the role of Ruby Thewes.
