Renee Zellweger and a New York Senator Sit in Carolina Herrera’s Front Row
Carolina Herrera is one consistent designer: Season after season, she turns out chic ladylike dresses loved by Anna Wintour and an Upper East Side clientele. It’s not a label worn heavily in Hollywood, it’s almost too covered up — except for the designer’s gowns. In the fall 2012 collection in New York, Herrera regular Renee Zellwegger looked pleased with what she saw, but she’s not going to the Oscars as far as we know. In fact, she’s in a holding pattern, waiting for an approved script for what should be her next movie, Bridget Jones’ Baby. New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand also sat in the front row — and these are perfect clothes for a senator to dress to impress her constituency.

Renée Zellweger reaches for some retail therapy at the Eaton Centre
Feb 12, 2012 News
One could almost make the rueful enunciations of ’90s heroine Bridget Jones when she — and by “she” I mean Renée Zellweger — was spotted breezing into Crabtree & Evelyn in the Eaton Centre earlier this week. Knowing precisely what she fancied — like an eagle swooping in on its prey — she found and bought the brand’s ever-self-improving Rosewater Hand Therapy.
“Very pleasant,” is the word on the Academy Award winner’s swing-by (who was also spotted in other stores in the mall).
Although, it does raise the question — and it remains Cadbury-mysterious to me: What was Zellweger doing in town (besides, well, shopping for hand cream?)
Not officially slated for anything shooting here. Not here for an official appearance. What, oh what, could it be — besides, well, a memory-lane visit from when she was in Toronto shooting Chicago, years ago now, when her retail experience was not as benign, and she was famously asked to leave the Gucci store on Bloor because she had a coffee cup in her hand (someone had failed to recognize Ms. Zellweger!).
Ah, well. Memories. She’s obviously moved on. Has her Rosewater Hand Therapy, and is grudge-free. Onwards! Forwards! (Bradley Cooper-who?!)
But she is going back-to-the-future in one respect: set to try her extra-smooth hand at her most iconic role. Working Title has, yup, confirmed that Zellweger will reprise the chardonnay-quaffing, big-underpants-wearing Bridget Jones in a third film instalment!
According to the info that’s out there, the plot involves … you got it: a baby.
Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are both back on, and the shoot’s supposed to begin sometime this year. And, according to Firth in a recent interview, a final hurrah is in order: “I think the idea of Mark and Daniel and Bridget in advanced stages of deterioration could be quite fun.”

Renee Zellweger Lists Connecticut Farmhouse
Dec 27, 2011 News
While many celebrities head to Malibu for vacation homes and away from the bright lights of Hollywood, others flee to more rural areas for respite.
Renee Zellweger chose Connecticut for a vacation spot, picking up a pastoral estate in November 2004 for $1.32 million.
The blonde starlet recently listed the home for sale on the Pomfret Center real estate market for $1.5 million. According to Real Estalker, Zellweger’s Connecticut home isn’t the only Northeast estate she owns. She also has a place in the New York beach getaway, the Hamptons, which she purchased in 2003.
Although an A-List actress with more than a handful of acting awards under her belt, as well as a slew of roles in critically-acclaimed movies like “Jerry Maguire,” “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Chicago” and “ Cold Mountain,” Zellweger is a private and low-profile celebrity.
Her desire for privacy is reflected in 39-acre estate in rural northeast Connecticut. Although the place is only 3.5 hours from New York city, the property also has a helicopter landing area for those who prefer a more discreet way of travel.
The sprawling farmhouse was extensively updated by Zellweger in the seven years she owned the property, although the work was done in such a way to maintain the charm of the 1770′s-era home.
Zellweger’s home features 4,287 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces and dark wood-beamed ceilings and hardwood floors. The grounds have also been extensively landscaped, with varying levels of terraces, gardens and stone walls. Included on the property are a guest house with its own kitchenette, as well as an antique barn and entertainment pavilion.
The listing is held by Jonathan Radford of Coldwell Banker.
According to Zillow‘s mortgage calculator, a monthly payment on Zellweger’s home would be $5,579, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year-mortgage.

Renee Zellweger, Lifetime Team for Hollywood Period Drama
Nov 10, 2011 News
Lifetime is taking a few pages out of Renee Zellweger’s diary.
The female-skewing cable network has picked up Cinnamon Girl, a 1960s drama loosely based on Zellweger’s journey from small-town Texas to Hollywood.
Created by Zellweger and Anthony Tambakis (Warrior), Cinnamon Girl will revolve around four girls as they come of age during the cultural revolution of the late 1960s and early 1970s in Los Angeles. The drama will explore Cassie, Lola, Penny and Lou’s lives as they reach a crossroads of the era’s political, artistic, social and sexual rebellions.
“Renee’s passion, clarity of character and deep emotion for this project immediately transported us to the late ’60s/early ’70s and created a resonance with us wanting to relive that energy,” Lifetime president and GM Nancy Dubuc said in a statement announcing the news Wednesday. “Cinnamon Girl is a game changer for our network and is exactly the type of show we want to deliver.”
Zellweger and Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) will executive produce, with the Bridget Jones actress co-writing the story alongside Tambakis, who will pen the script. O’Connor will direct with Danny Bramson (Jerry McGuire) serving as producer and music supervisor.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Nancy Dubuc and Rob Sharenow, who share our enthusiasm and creative intentions, and we believe the timing is perfect for Cinnamon Girl to have found a home at Lifetime during this transformative juncture at the network,” Zellweger said. “We’re really looking forward to making Cinnamon Girl come to life as part of their campaign to expand audience expectations and redefine what it means to be a Lifetime show.”
The period drama marks Zellweger’s second project with Lifetime. In 2008 she executive produced Living Proof, the true story of UCLA’s Dr. Dennis Slamon, who helped develop the breast cancer drug Herceptin.
Cinnamon also serves as the latest in a long line of high-profile projects for the cabler, which this week premiered its original movie Five, an anthology of short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives. Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys were among the directors taking part.
The network is also developing a period drama revolving around The Hollywood Reporter founder William Wilkerson with Johnny Depp’s shingle Infinitum Nihil attached as well as a contemporary reboot of Steel Magnolias from Hairspray duo Neil Meron and Craig Zadan.

Zellweger refuses to gain weight for Bridget Jones 3
Sep 9, 2011 News
Renee Zellweger has given her consent to reprise the role of the hapless Bridget in the third installment of the rom-com series but says she will not put on weight to portray the character.
The 42-year-old actress, who received an Oscar nomination for her role in the Bridget series, is hesitant to add extra pounds because she is worried about the after effects, reported Daily Mail.
“I had a panic attack with all the specialists talking about how bad this is for you long-term, putting on that much weight in short periods of time,” she said.
Insiders say Zellweger is considering wearing a “fat suit” for the upcoming film.
Although it has not been confirmed that Hugh Grant and Colin Firth will return, Oscar winner Firth has revealed some plot earlier.
“I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can’t have children, I think that’s the way it goes on. So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant) for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?” he said.

Renée Zellweger & Sandra Bullock Spend Girl Time
Is Renée Zellweger turning to Sandra Bullock for comfort after her split from Bradley Cooper?
Zellweger, who has been spending some post-breakup time in New York, visited Bullock over the weekend at Sandra’s downtown Manhattan apartment, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
There’s no word on what the two stars discussed, but both Zellweger, 41, and Bullock, 46, share a Texas connection: The former is a native of the Lone Star State, while Bullock has a home in Austin. And both women have been through high-profile breakups.
As for how Zellweger is doing since her split from Cooper, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE, “She’s really good. She’s going out with friends and she’s moving on.”
The source adds that the actress is ready to focus again on her career. “She hasn’t been working because she wanted to really put time and energy into the relationship,” says the source, “and now she’s going back to work.”
Bullock is in the Big Apple shooting her upcoming film with Tom Hanks, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
